JAPANVERSE OFFICIAL · START GUIDE 03

You Don’t Need to Be an Expert on Japan.

JAPANVERSE is not a competition to know the most about Japan. Real experiences, honest questions and curiosity are enough.

01 · THE IDEA

You do not need to know everything about Japan to have something worth saying about it.

You do not need perfect Japanese. You do not need to know every rule, every region or every piece of history.

You only need a real experience and your own point of view.

CURIOSITY IS ENOUGH

YOU ARE ALLOWED TO STILL BE LEARNING.

Maybe you visited Japan once.

Maybe you have been coming for years. Maybe you live here. Maybe your interest started with food, football, anime, design, temples, fashion or a person you met.

There is no test before you can contribute.

JAPANVERSE is not built around who knows the most. It is built around what people genuinely noticed, felt, learned and want to understand better.

QUESTIONS CAN BE STORIES TOO.

You can share something that surprised you.

You can share something you misunderstood at first. You can ask why something works the way it does. You can share a custom you learned, a mistake you made or a place that changed your idea of Japan.

And when Japanese contributors add their own voices, those different perspectives can meet in the same place.

THAT IS HOW UNDERSTANDING GROWS.

You do not have to speak for Japan.

Just speak from your own experience.

What did Japan teach you that you did not expect?
