There are no famous sights in the rural part of Kagoshima where I live. But along the road the children take to school, local people greet them with a cheerful “Good morning” every day.

Rain or the cold of winter, they keep watch over the children. Cosmos planted by people in the community bloom along the roadside, too.

It may look like an ordinary road, as if there were nothing there. To me, though, it is a road filled with people’s kindness and love. This, too, is the Japan I want to share with the world.
