VIEW PROFILE

Hello, I’m Kimiko. I live in the countryside of Kagoshima.

For 18 years, I worked as a high school teacher. The time I spent laughing, working through challenges, and growing alongside my students remains one of my most precious treasures.

Now I’ve left school and started growing melons. I’m also working to create a welcoming place where children in my community can feel safe and at ease.

Teacher and farmer may seem like very different lives. To me, though, they share the same purpose: helping people grow, nurturing life, and caring for the community I call home.

Here, I want to share more than famous destinations. I hope to introduce rural life, Japanese schools, the connections between people, and the values that have mattered to me as I’ve made a life in Japan.

I’d like to share the Japan found in my everyday life—the kind you won’t find in a guidebook.

Welcome to my Japan.
